Junko Tabei

MUSE OF THE MONTH

Artwork by Baé

“There was never a question in my mind that I wanted to climb that mountain, no matter what other people said.” In May 1975, Junko Tabei carved her spot in history when she became the first woman to reach the summit of Mount Everest. She indeed broke new ground for women.
