Katherine Johnson, one of the three women depicted in the movie <Hidden Figures>, recently passed away at the age of 101.

Before electronic computers, complex mathematical calculations were done manually. During her 30 years at NASA, Katherine Johnson, a prolific mathematician, had made several milestones. She had made important calculations that allowed the Apollo 11 lunar lander to sync with the moon-orbiting service module to get the astronauts back on Earth.
 

The Presidential Medal of Freedom was awarded to Johnson, 2015


During the time of gender and racial discrimination, Catherine Johnson resisted persistently. As our #MuseoftheMonth, her legacy will be long remembered.
